All the different foods and produce are symbolic of all the Jews from over 102 countries that have come here to revitalize our nation and people. They blend into a cacophany of sounds and tastes, colors and textures, and together, although very different, are one great experience.
As far as protein is concerned, you can eat hummus as chickpeas are loaded with protein. Sorry, but plums won't appear for another few weeks, so I guess you'll just have to come back when they are in season! Of course, if you decide to join us in this crazy targetted little country, you can just go to the shuk all the time! The Mahaneh Yehudah Shuk here in Jerusalem is also an experience not to be missed. Sometimes I wonder what is so special about supermarkets like Wegman's anyway, when you can go to a shuk?
See you Sunday,
IrwinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-224038983871334157.post-28180736564030225002010-04-08T21:00:15.007-05:002010-04-08T21:00:15.007-05:00This is beautiful Pam.This is beautiful Pam.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
